Court Orders Imprisonment of 4.5 Years to the Guilty of Rape Attempt
The District Court of Syangja has ordered four and half years’ imprisonment to Bishwas Nepali Haribhaiya Magar, 21, of Putali Bazaar Municipality-9 for attempting to rape a 52-year-old woman. The verdict was given on November 16, 2021.
The decision was taken by the bench of Judge Surya Bahadur Thapa and was filed NRs. 50,000 informed Shrestedar Bishwa Prasad Regmi.
Nepali had attempted to rape the victim on March 19, 2021, after which the victim had filed a verbal complaint on March 20. The written complaint was filed on March 21 at the Ward Police Office, Waling. The accused was then arrested from his house on the same day based on the verbal complaint. A case of attempted rape was filed against the accused on the same day.
