Court Orders Imprisonment of 12 Years’ and Six Months to the Guilty of Rape
The District Court of Siraha has sentenced Asheshwar Chamar, 57, of Kalyanpur Municipality-4 to the jail term of 12 years and six months for raping a five-year-old girl.
The verdict was given by Judge Krishna Prasad Subedi on March 31. The verdict has asked the Government of Nepal to give compensation of NPR 50,000 to the victim.
The victim was raped on March 10, 2020 and the complaint was filed at the Area police Office, Mirchaiya on March 11, 2020.
The health checkup of the victim was conducted on March 11, 2020 at the District Hospital of Siraha. The accused was arrested on March 11, 2020 and was remanded to judicial custody on April 12, 2020.
