Court Orders 7 Year Sentence to the Guilty of Rape
Aitaraj Younghang, 27, of Yangbarak Rural Municipality,6, has been sentenced to 7 years of imprisonment by the district court in the charge of raping of a 19-year-old girl.
Bishwajung Sijapati of the district court in a meeting with INSEC representatives stated that the district court judge Yogendraraj Shah declared on 4 July 2022 that the guilty has to pay 25 thousand NPR compensation to the victim along with a 28 thousand fine to the victim relief fund.
The victim lodged a complaint at the district police office on 12 August 2019 against the accused for raping her.
On the basis of the complaint made by the victim, the police had arrested the accused on 15 May 2020.
On 7 June 2020, the police had filed a lawsuit against the accused in the district court for committing rape.
The health checkup of the victim was conducted at district hospital on 15 May 2020.
