Court Orders 18 Years of Imprisonment to the Guilty of Rape
The District Court of Makwanpur ordered the imprisonment of 18 years to Bimal Lama, 39, of Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan-11 for raping a 12-year-old girl.
The verdict was given by the single bench of Judge Dilli Ratna Shrestha. The court also ordered the guilty to deposit NPR. 100,000 as compensation to the victim, informed Shrestedar Tirtha Raj Bhattarai.
The victim was raped by the accused on June 16, 2021.
The victim had come to Hetauda from Chitwan, had got off at the bus park at night. The police investigation revealed that Lama had raped the girl by taking her to a hotel stating that he would drop her home.
Lama was sent to Bhimfedi Regional Jail for judicial custody.
