Court Declares Life Imprisonment for Rape Accused
Yamlal Rijal, 21, of Naubahini Rural Municipality-6 has been sentenced to life imprisonment by the district court on November 25 for raping an 11-year-old girl.
A bench of Justice Shyamlal Ghimire sentenced him to life imprisonment and charged him Rs 50,000 as compensation, said District Court Information Officer Tul Bahadur Gurung.
The victim had lodged a complaint at the District Police Office on December 13, 2020, alleging that the accused had raped her. Police had arrested the accused on December 16, 2020.
The victim was examined at the District Hospital, Bijuwar on December 16.
