Court Adjourns Case of Rape Accused
District Court, on 29 March 2023, has adjourned the case against Jogindra Mukhia, 22, of Tilathi Koiladi Rural Municipality-4 on the charge of rape of a 17-year-old girl.
Information Officer Bharatmani Pokharel said that the bench of District Judge Navin Kumar Joshi decided to adjourn the case against the absconding accused.
The victim filed a complaint at the district police office in Kathmandu on 22 April 2021, saying that the accused had raped her on 4 March 2021.
The victim said that after the accused raped her and took her to Kathmandu on 23 April 2021, and disappeared. Saptari Police filed a complaint against the accused on 25 April after Kathmandu police informed them about the case.
An arrest warrant was issued against the accused by the Saptari District Court on 25 April 2021. The police filed a charge sheet through the District Public Prosecutor’s Office on 1 May 2021, informing about the absconded accused.
