The Government has tabled the Constitution of Nepal (second amendment), 2073 proposal at the meeting today of the Legislature-Parliament according to RSS.

Tabling the amendment bill, Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Ajay Shanker Nayak said the amendment was introduced in order to facilitate the constitution amendment process and widen the acceptability of the constitution. It would also build an atmosphere conducive to elections, he said.
Earlier, the meeting had disapproved with a majority the note of protest registered by NWPP MPs Prem Suwal, Dilli Prasad Kafley and Anuradha Thapa Magar over the proposal seeking permission to table the amendment resolution.
At the meeting, MP Suwal said it was against the norms of democracy to fast-track amendment of constitution and objected to the proposed amendment to remove the requirement of provinces in redrawing of their boundaries and increasing local level units.
The meeting today also endorsed unanimously the proposal seeking consideration on the ‘Power Regulation Commission Bill, 2073’.
