Complaint Filed Against Rape Accused
District Police Office, Kalikot has registered a complaint on August 21, 2020 against Namaraj Shahi, 51, of Raskot Municipality-4, Basantapur in charge of raping an eighteen years girl.
The victim’s father told INSEC that the accused person was regularly committing rape to the girl and made her pregnant. He further added that the accused person compelled the victim for abortion by threats to kill after four months of her pregnancy.
After abortion, the girl’s life was at risk because of the excessive bleeding and she was taken to the district hospital Kalikot. According to Dr. Bhishma Pokhrel, Acting Chief of the District Health Management Office, the victim is under treatment after conducting the necessary health checkup.
DSP of District Police Office Kalikot, Shyam Olia, told to INSEC that Nepal Police is investigating the case after registering the complaint and searching the accused to arrest.
