Complaint Registered Against Accused of Inhumane Treatment
Police registered a complaint against Sadhusharan Mahara, 43, of Nahara rural municipality-4, on 29 March 2023, for alleged inhumane treatment of Shyam Kumar Shrestha,50, the mayor of Golbazar Municipality. Shrestha accuses Mahara of throwing motor lubricant oil at him on 28 March.
DSP Rabindraraj Pandey said that the District Police Office Siraha registered the complaint on the letter pad of Golbazar municipality on 29 March.
Ram Kewal Mandal, the driver, and other employees detained Mahara from the scene of the incident on 28 March and handed him over to the police. It is alleged that the accused threw the lubricant at Shrestha while he was getting into a car at the Golbazar Municipality.
Ram Kewal Mandal informed that Mahara was detained while the other accused is absconding. The accused also scattered leaflets of the People’s Struggle Mobilization Committee of Nepal Communist Party (Bahumat).
The supporters of Shrestha blocked the East-West highway at Golbazar for one hour on the morning of 29 March and shouted slogans demanding action against the accused.
