Complaint Filed Demanding Protection from the Police

Nepali Congress cadre Krishna Dhungana, a resident of Nilkantha Municipality-5, has lodged a complaint at the District Police Office on June 13, 2022, demanding for security.

According to Inspector Jageshwor Bhandari, Dhungana had lodged a complaint at the District Police Office alleging that Rajan Shrestha, a CPN-Maoist cadre, had threatened to kill him. He received the death threat through a call on June 10.

He also said that he had met Chief District Officer Krishna Prasad Lamsal and lodged a complaint with the police.

Nepali Congress District Chairperson Ram Nath Adhikari was also present in the meeting with the Chief District Officer.

On the day of local level election on May 13, UCPN (Maoist) cadres attacked Bhim Dhungana had manhandled them at Khalte. Dhungana was also the candidate of Chairperson from Nilkantha municipality ward no. -5 from Nepali Congress and on June 10, Maoist cadre Hari Shrestha of Nilkantha Municipality-5 was attacked and seriously injured by Nepali Congress cadres in Nilkantha Municipality-3.

Shrestha, who sustained serious head injuries, is undergoing treatment at the Trauma Center in Kathmandu.

According to the victim, the complaint was lodged to control such series of incidents.

Inspector Bhandari said that action would be taken against the accused after the investigation.
