Complaint Filed Against Teacher for Beating
A-13-year-old student of Eager Brigde Boarding School, Surkhet was beaten by his teacher Krishna Khadka on March 23, 2022 after which a complaint was filed against him at the District Police Office on March 24.
The student was beaten by the teacher after he couldn’t answer the teacher’s questions. The complaint was filed by the mother of the victim.
The victim’s family had filed a complaint to take action against the accused, said Inspector Kanak Shahi.
According to Inspector Shahi, both the parties were called at the District Police Office for discussion and the accused teacher apologized for his actions. He even committed of not repeating it again, said Inspector Shahi.
Founder of the school, Krishna Bhushal informed that the accused was fired from his job.
Regarding the incident, founder Bhushal informed the team of human rights activists including INSEC that the teacher had been fired and expressed his commitment not to allow such an incident to happen again in the future.
A team comprising INSEC Karnali Province Coordinator Narayan Subedi, Human Rights Defenders Network Karnali Province Coordinator Pitambar Dhakal, Human Rights Defenders Network Surkhet Coordinator Sharmila BC and NGO Federation’s Ashok Raji discussed the incident with the school founder Krishna Bhushal.
