Complaint Filed Against Prime Minister for Violating Code of Conduct

A complaint has been lodged against Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba at the office of the Chief Election Officer in Bharatpur on May 4.

Deuba is also the chairperson of the Nepali Congress and is visiting Bharatpur to participate in the election rally violating the election code of conduct. The complaint was filed by Advocate Sunita Adhikari.

Purushottam Poudel, information officer at the Chief Election Officer’s Office, Bharatpur, confirmed that a written complaint had been lodged against the code of conduct.

Article 5 of the Code of Conduct for Elections 2078 has stated that the Minister of the Government of Nepal and the Minister of the Provincial Government shall not engage in or participate in propaganda for or against any political party or candidate except in the case of self-candidature.
