Complaint Filed Against Accused of Witch Craft Allegations
On July 18, a complaint was filed against Diwana Dilkumar Yadav (36 years old) and Sakindra Yadav (29 years old) of the same locality for allegedly beating up 48-year-old Madina Khatun from Kaudena Rural Municipality-2, accusing her of witchcraft.
According to the victim, Madina Khatun, the accused abused and physically assaulted her on July 9, making false allegations of witchcraft against her. Subsequently, the legal process was initiated, but on July 15, the ward chairperson and the accused party allegedly pressured the victim to settle the matter within the village.
The victim sought medical treatment at Sarlahi District Hospital from July 10 to July 12. Due to the severity of her injuries, she was then transferred to the National Hospital in Birganj on July 12 for further treatment. On July 18, her injuries were re-examined at Sarlahi District Hospital.
DSP Kailas Rai of the District Police Office assured that the incident will be thoroughly investigated, and appropriate legal action will be taken against the perpetrators in accordance with the law.
