Complaint Filed against Accused of Domestic Violence
On July 24, 25-year-old Sunita Devi Sah, a resident of Malangwa Municipality-6, filed accusations against her 19-year-old brother-in-law, Manoj Kumar Sah, and her 51-year-old mother-in-law, Papia Devi Sah, for perpetrating physical assault and subjecting her to domestic violence. Subsequently, on August 7, she lodged a formal complaint with the Malangwa District Police Office.
The victim’s mother, Kalia Devi Sah, aged 44, has also been implicated in the case for engaging in domestic violence. She is alleged to have physically abused Sunita Devi Sah under the pretext of demanding dowry, leading to both physical injuries and mental distress. The victim sought medical attention at the Sarlahi District Hospital in Malangwa on July 25 due to injuries sustained during the assault. She subsequently received further treatment at the National Hospital in Birganj.
It was revealed that the victim’s husband has been awaiting foreign employment for the past two years.
District Police Office Malangwa’s Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Kailash Rai provided information regarding the incident.
