Complaint Filed Against Accused in Alleged Witchcraft-Related Beating Incident
A complaint was filed against 34-year-old Mohammad Ansari and 26-year-old Nemat Mansuri of Malangwa-7, Musauli at the District Police Office, Malagwa on 16 June for alleging Babita Devi Yadav, 44 and her daughter 18-year-old Sabita Kumari Yadav of the same place for practicing witchcraft and beating them.
The victim stated that the accused verbally and physically abused them on June 6, accusing them of practicing witchcraft. Additionally, the accused party also pressured the victims to make a settlement within the Malangwa Municipality-7 Ward Office and the Judicial Committee of the Municipality on 11 June.
The aggrieved party informed that the medical treatment of the victims was done from 8 to 10 June and their injuries were re-examined on June 16 at the Provincial Hospital Malangwa.
Inspector Sabin Karki of the District Police Office in Malangwa stated that they will take appropriate legal action against the accused following a thorough investigation.
