Complaint Filed Against Accused for Killing Senior Citizen

A complaint against 54-year-old Tafejul Mohhomad of Rajbiraj Municipality-1 and ten other accused was filed at the District Police Office for the charge of beating and killing a 75-year-old senior citizen, Sakina Miyaini. The complaint was filed by the victim’s 52-year-old daughter-in-law, Najmun Khatun on 8 May.

She informed that the accused Tafejul along with his 23-year-old son Samid, 55-year-old Sadrul, 48-year-old Iliyas, 50-year-old Tajmul, 58-year-old Mohammad Najmun 68-year-old Imamuddin, his son Nayim, 30, Majid, 49, Irsad, 25, and Jainul, 48 subjected the victim to a brutal beating. The victim subsequently lost her life on 6 May during treatment at Gajendra Narayan Singh Hospital, Rajbiraj and the post-mortem of the body was done on 7 May.

The victim’s 26-year-old grandson Sheraj visited the office of INSEC District Representative, Saptari and informed that Miyayini was subjected to inhuman treatment on 14 April. The incident took place  when she attempted to stop the accused while they were brutally beating 22-year-old Jaiuddin, Sheraj, 26, Rahim, 24-year-olds Rahim and Safid in Rajbiraj Municipality-1. He further mentioned that the accused used Batons, rods and similar weapons during the beating. The injured Sheraj, Rahim and Jaiuddin were treated at the Gajendra Narayan Singh Hospital, Rajbiraj.

According to Inspector Pramod Khadka of the District Police Office, the accused absconded as soon as the team of the District Police Office reached to investigate the incident.

Similarly, Nayim said that 65-year-old Jamal, 54-year-old Tafejul, 50-year-old Tajmul and his wife Sagira Khatun, 48, of Rajbiraj Municipality-1 were injured from the accused party in the incident. Among them Jamal and Tafejul were treated in Chinnamasta Hospital whereas, Tamjul and Sagira were treated in  Gajendra Narayan Singh Hospital, Rajbiraj.

It is reported that the accused has also filed a complaint under attempted killing.
