The community health unit of Simkot Rural Municipality-1, Kumling, is facing a scarcity of drinking water. The health unit was established seven years ago and the crisis of drinking water has not been addressed yet, due to which the beneficiaries are facing a problem.

Usha Bhandari, Auxiliary Nurse Midwife (ANM) said that the river is being used for the patients coming for regular treatment and the staff working in the unit

Rupkali Bhandari, a local, complained that she had to return home without even drinking water when she came to the health unit for treatment.

Health workers say that the Simkot rural municipality and the Province Government have not listened to their repeated requests for water supply.

In this regard, Simkot Rural Municipality Chairperson Padam Bahadur Lama said that due to lack of budget there were not able to manage drinking water and toilets for the health unit.
