Code of Conduct Violated by Political Parties
As the local level election is approaching, the incidents of violation of code of conduct are increasing day by day.
According to Kaski Representative Sushan Ghimire, Mayor of Pokhara Metropolitan City, Man Bahadur GC has inaugurated the bridge connecting Pokhara Ward No. 4 and 5 by violating the Election Code of Conduct.
It has been said that no project can be initiated or inaugurated after the implementation of the election code of conduct.
According to Gorkha representative Hariram Upreti, the violation of the code of conduct has increased with four days left before the local level election on May 13. Candidates have reached the doorsteps by campaigning with eagerness. The election code of conduct states that loud voices or sound cannot be used for campaigning. Similarly, political parties have been found to be organizing motorbike rallies to show their impact. Especially in the district headquarters, candidates from CPN-UML, Nepali Congress, CPN-Maoist Centre, Janata Samajwadi Party and independents have been organizing motorcycle rallies. Although flags are not allowed to be used in public places, flags with election symbols have been placed on poles along Gorkha Bazaar and rural roads.
