Clash between Police and Civilians; Three Injured
Three persons, including a police inspector, have been injured in a clash between police and the general public at the polling station after the district convention of the Nepal Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The injured have been identified as Inspector Om Bahadur Pun, 28, Constable Prem Bahadur Thapa, 38, and Shankar Neupane, 41, of Besishahar Municipality-8.
Police have arrested Suresh Shrestha, 39, of Besishahar Municipality-8 and Suraj Shrestha, 29, of Sunder Bazar Municipality-8 from the polling station, said DSP Ganga Bahadur Thapa of District Police Office Lamjung.
Among the injured, Neupane was sent to Kathmandu on the recommendation of District Hospital Lamjung with serious nose injuries, said Hemant Shrestha, chief of the hospital.
According to DSP Thapa, Inspector Pun sustained minor injuries in the clash while Constable Thapa went home with seven stitches on his head after further treatment.
He informed INSEC that necessary investigation into the incident would be carried out and legal action would be taken.
