Clash Between Local Youths and Police, Seven Police Injured

Seven policemen have been injured in a clash between local youths and police.

Seven policemen, including ASI Komal Raj Bohara, 31, working at the District Police Office, were injured in a clash at Bagbazar of Musikot Municipality-5 on October 15, 2021.

Inspector Kapil Jung Shahi of the District Police Office informed that Bohara was taken to Nepalgunj Medical College, Kohalpur for treatment and was shifted to Kathmandu because treatment was not possible there.

According to him, police head constable Kali Bahadur Bohara, 36, police constable Laxman Gurung, 28, Bodhil Kami, 31, Bhim Bahadur KC, 30, Sanjeev Nepali, 28, and Tilak Oli, 26 have sustained wounds in the clash.

The injured were treated at the Khalanga-based Sajha Hospital, said Dr. Deepak Pun.

Police had mobilized at the incident spot on the basis of a complaint that a truck (Raa 1 Kha 2392) parked at Bagbazar in Musikot Municipality-5 was pelted with stones and a bottle of beer on October 15.

According to Inspector Shahi, a joint team of the District Police Office and the Temporary Police Station Bagbazar was attacked when they tried to control the local youths.

Police have arrested six youths on the charge of being involved in the incident while four others are absconding.

According to the District Police Office, among the arrested are Naresh Pun Magar, 20, of Musikot Municipality-5, Rajan Prakash Giri, 18, of Ward No. 1, Aakash Pariyar, 20, of the same place, Hari Bahadur Gharti, 25, Khadananda KC, 24, of Ward No. 10 and Markush Pun Magar of Bhume, Rukum East.
