Clash Between Cadres in Kushe; Air Firing to Control the Mob

Sandesh Thiruwa, 26, of Kushe Rural Municipality-9 has been injured in a clash between the cadres of Nepali Congress, CPN-Maoist Centre and CPN-Unified Socialist. The injured are undergoing treatment at a local medical centre.

The clash took place between about 100 cadres of CPN-Maoist and Unified Socialists and about 70 cadres of Nepali Congress on May 4 at 2 pm.

According to the District Administration Office, Jajarkot, a scuffle broke out between the party cadres over the issue of election propaganda. Police fired a round through the 3.0.3 Rifle after the cadres started pelting stones at Nepal Police while they were trying to reduce the clash.

Chief District Officer Jhalak KC informed that additional security personnel have been mobilized to normalize the situation.

An alliance has been formed between the Unified Socialists and the CPN-Maoist Centre at Kushe Rural Municipality, while the Nepali Congress and the CPN-UML have participated in the election without forming an alliance.
