Civil Society Plays Vital Role on Fair and Managed Election: Pyakurel
The Citizen’s Campaign for Clean Election (CCCE) INSEC chairperson Subodh Raj Pyakurel said that the role of civil society is very important for fair and clean election.
Pyakurel highlighted the role of civil society in election while speaking at the program organized in Mahendranagar on June 2 by CCCE on election and human rights. He added that the voter’s education is not only the responsibility of the election commission but it is equal responsibility of civil society and political parties and their representatives. He also said that media plays essential role on voter’s education.
In the program CCCE co-chairperson and chairman of HURON, Indra Prasad Aryal said that everyone must take part on making election fair and fearless. He added that voter’s education is very important on stopping void votes.
Similarly, Bhawa Raj Regmi, leader and coordinator of civil society Kanchanpur said that there are still suspicion on whether the election will be held or not as no candidates have been decided yet by the political parties in the district.
The participants of the program stressed on operating effective voter’s education so that the confidence of voters can be increased.
