Citizenship Delivered to Person with Category ‘A’ Disability at Home
The District Administration Office issued citizenship to a 17-year-old boy with Category ‘A’ disability from Resunga Municipality-7 on January 31 by visiting his home. This initiative was carried out through the joint efforts of Resunga Municipality Mayor Khilraj Panthi and Chief District Officer Janardan Gautam.
Born on February 29, 2008, the boy lost mobility at the age of two. Due to this, he has been completely immobile and fully dependent on bed rest for all his needs, including sanitation, according to his mother, Goma Marasini. She shared that as her youngest son has lived with a disability since childhood, she has personally cared for him but was unable to take him to the administration office to obtain his citizenship. Marasini expressed her happiness after the administration issued citizenship to her son at home, stating that it felt like the government had reached their doorstep.
Chief District Officer Janardan Gautam emphasized that no individual should be deprived of citizenship due to disability. He assured that the administration remains committed to providing citizenship at home upon receiving relevant information and urged everyone to assist in facilitating the process. Resunga Municipality Mayor Khildhwaj Panthi highlighted that they have delivered most registration services directly to people’s homes. The District Administration Office, through INSEC’s initiative, has extended home-based citizenship services to several persons with disabilities.
