Child Development Teachers and Staff Voice Complaints Over Salary Deprivation
Early Child Development Facilitators (ECD teachers) and school staff in the Ganyapadhura Rural Municipality area have raised concerns about not receiving their salaries for the past 14 months from the Rural Municipality.
Despite the federal government agreeing to contribute Rs.10,000 and the local government providing Rs.7,000 to ensure a minimum monthly salary of Rs 10,700 for early childhood development facilitators and Rs 10,500 for school staff, the teachers and staff have not received their monthly salaries from the Rural Municipality for the past 14 months.
Lokendra Khatri, a staff member at Bhuvaneshwari Secondary School in Ganyapur, Gaunpalika-4, Ganyadhura, revealed that the monthly salary of Rs 7,000/7,000 for the child development facilitators and school staff has not been received for the past 14 months.
Tasbir Ghatal, the education officer of the Rural Municipality, stated that the child development facilitators and school employees working in the Rural Municipality area could not receive their service salaries due to the delayed release of the budget. He added that the child development facilitators and school employees in the rural municipality area will receive the pending amount shortly after the budget is released.
In the Rural Municipality area, 63 employees, serving as child development facilitators and school staff, had their monthly wages arranged by the federal and local governments.
