Chairperson and the Administrative Officer of Sarkegad Rural Municipality Assaulted
Thana Bahadur Rokaya, 45, Chairperson of Sarkegad Rural Municipality-8, and Nar Bahadur Rawat, 30, Chief Administrative Officer of Sarkegad Rural Municipality-8, have accused Yangzor Karki, 28, and Lawajan Karki, 29, of assaulting them.
Rawat, the chief administrative officer, said that in mid-August, the rural municipality held a written and oral examination for the recruitment of 54 contract employees. However, they were assaulted with the accusation of appointing their own acquaintances. According to Officer Rawat, he had filed a complaint against the accused at the Sarkegad police station.
On August 7 an advertisement was published for 54 posts including Administrative Assistant, Auxiliary Nurse Midwife, Assistant Health Worker, ayurvedic doctor, employment Assistant, Engineer, Animal Technician, Agricultural Technician, Teacher, Computer Operator, etc.
Officer Rawat has alleged that the accused were the cadres of Nepali Congress. Earlier, CPN (Maoist) centre Sarkegad had protested regarding the appointment of contract employees by padlocking the office of the rural municipality.
Inspector Gita Ram Chowdhury has informed that based on the complaint filed at Sarkegad police station they will hold a discussion between the two parties. Deputy Chairperson of the rural municipality, Chandrasingh Karki said that the officers who were injured were being treated at the local level hospital.
