A case of abetment of suicide has been registered against Milan Dahal, 40, a resident of Sunkosi Rural Municipality-5. Dahal, who teaches social subjects at Shree Gramkali Secondary School in Sunkosi Rural Municipality-6 Amare, was accused of abatement of suicide Goma B.K., 11, a resident of Sunkosi Rural Municipality-6 Amare,  on November 7.

According to Inspector Rajesh Shakya, a case was registered at the local police office in Khurkot after Goma’s Father, Tula Bahadur B.K.,35, filed a complaint on November 9.

The student said that Goma, who studies in class 7, was punished by the teacher for being late to class, by being hit on her hands and wrists with a stick.

Tul Bahadur said that Junita B.K., who is a relative of Goma, was also  beaten by Dahal. Before her death, Durga B.K had complained about her hands hurting because of the inflicted punishment.

Tul Bahadur recalled that her daughter urged her sister to pick some fruits, and then committed suicide when she left. She had complained about the pain she had emotionally and mentally suffered at the hands of her teacher. “If I am wronged, I should get justice,” he said.

DSP Harikrishna KC of District Police Office Sindhuli informed that Goma committed suicide at 4:40 on November 7.They informed us about the bruises found on the deceased’s body and also added that the reasons for the bruises will be confirmed after postmortem.

The body has been sent to the Teaching Hospital Kathmandu on November 9 for post-mortem. Milan Dahal has absconded after the incident.
