Case Against the Gang-Rape Accused Adjourned

The case against the 16- and 17-year-old boys of Bode Bersain Municipality-8 Kachan accused of gang-raping a 10-year-old girl, has been adjourned on 26th February. According to the court, the bench of District Judge Hemant Rawal decided to keep the case against the two accused adjourned.

The victim’s mother lodged a complaint at the local police office Kalyanpur on 1 June 2019, stating that her daughter was gang-raped by three accused persons in the morning of 14 May 2019, in the weed forest of Titepati, on the land of Hari Mahaseth in Kachan, Bode Bersain Municipality-8. A charge sheet was filed against the accused in the District Court on 4 June 2019.

The medical examination of the victim was done at Gajendra Narayan Singh Hospital Rajviraj on 15 May 2019. On the same day, the local police office Kalyanpur registered a complaint.

The court has ordered that another 14 years, 8 months and 24 days old accused will be presented for sentencing on 26 February. He was arrested from his house on 15 May 2019. According to the order of the court, since 6 June 2019, he was in the Child Reform Home at Birgunj for pre-trial detention. They were released in the month of March as per the decision to release those in child reform home to protect them from the risk of Covid-19.
