Bigamous Gets One Year Sentence
The District Court of Siraha has ordered to sentence Habib Miya,35 of Lahan Municipality-17 and Lazina Khatun,23 for one year each on August 16 along with penalty of Rs 25,000 on charge of polygamy.
A single bench of District Court judge Amrit Bahadur Basnet has given a verdict regarding the case.
The victim Makina Khatun,25 had lodged a complaint at Area Police Office March 31 against her husband for polygamy. They were arrested by the police on April 6. They were released on bail amount of Rs 50,000 each by a district court order on April 21.
