Bigamous gets One Year Sentence

The District Court of Dailekh has ordered to sentence Tilak Acharya,28  of Dallu Municipality-8 for one year on charge of polygamy. He was sentenced based on the case registered by his wife Shakuntala Acharya,31.

Shakuntala had lodged a complaint at police on May 2 against her husband for marrying Kalpana Sirpali of Taman VDC-4, Baglung.

A single bench of District Court judge Prakash Prasad Pandit has given verdict regarding the case on August 31. In a same case, the court has acquitted  Kalpana.

Similarly, the court has ordered to sentence Prakash Rimal alias Tikaram of Dallu Municipality-5 and Karun Kumar Khadka of Gamaudi VDC-6 for two years with penalty of Rs 45,000 each on charge of cheating Kalpana with RS 50,000 luring her of freeing Tilak by giving the amount to the judge. They were charged for cheating and fraud against Court.

The court said that Karun Kumar who is also doing a jail term had used Prakash Rimal as a means by getting money from Kalpana to free Tilak.
