Bhaktapur bans use of children in an election
Chief District Officer and chairperson of District children development committee, Drona Pokhrel said that no children will be allowed to be used in pre-election, election and post-election activities in Bhaktapur.
While speaking at the interaction program organized by the District Children Committee on April 28 in Bhaktapur with various political parties and stakeholders, Pokhrel said that there will be complete ban of using children in any election related activities. He urged all the political parties to make Bhaktapur Children use-free district.
Prior to this, the political parties on April 27 have signed a commitment letter committing that they will not use children in an election related activities. A five member committee in coordination with Women Development Officer Neela Ghimire has been formed to monitor whether children were used during election or not.
