Awareness Program Held Against Human Trafficking
An awareness program has been organized at Rani of Biratnagar, border between Nepal and India, on September 7 on the occasion of 10th national day against Human Trafficking.
Street dramas and various programs were organized at border area of Rani which has been used as a trail by Human Traffickers. The program was jointly organized by NHRC, CIWIN, WOREC Nepal, Women Human Rights Defenders Network and Maiti Nepal.
Speaking at the program, regional director of NHRC of Biratnagar Jhankar Rawal said that issue of Human Trafficking in India by duping the victim has become a huge problem. He said that awareness is very essential to stop trafficking. Street drama “Sabadhan” was staged during the program.
