Attempt to Reconcile Rape Case: Complaint Against Accused
The residents of Gadhi Rural Municipality-5 have filed a verbal complaint against the 55-year-old grandfather for trying to reconcile the crime of rape of his 9-year-old granddaughter.
The local youths filed a verbal complaint that the aggrieved party and the accused were trying to settle the incident that took place on May 18, 2023, through a panchayat meeting.
According to Buddhi Choulagai, Inspector of the Local Police Office, the local youths informed the police that the Panchayat decided on a silly punishment and asked the accused to pay a compensation of Rs.300,000 to the aggrieved party and to apologize.
Inspector Chaulagai said that the accused had already absconded when the police reached the location where the Panchayat was held. Furthermore, the investigation is going on.
The health examination of the victim was done on May 24, 2023, at the District Hospital, said Dr. Bhumi Rajdhami
