Arrested on charge of beating on an allegation of being witch
Police have arrested four people along with husband on September 20 on charge of beating 18 years old Sarita Damai of Khandachakra Municipality-5 alleging her of being witch.
She was alleged by the family members for not giving birth to a child because of being witch. Her husband Ali Damai,26, father-in-law Bije Damai,58, brother-in-law Ain Damai,22 and 34 years old Prem Damai had beaten on an allegation of being wicth. All of them were arrested by the police.
The victim had lodged complaint against the accused at District Police Office on September 19 on charge of torturing her being witch by her family members.
After the complaint, accused were arrested for investigation according to DSP Binod Sharma.
The victim sustained chest, throat and back injuries due to the beatings and receiving treatment at District Hospital of Kalikot.
