Arrest Warrant Issued Against Candidates of Local Level Election
An arrest warrant has been issued against Milan Kumar Bista (Manish), who had registered his candidature for the post of chairperson of Likhu rural municipality in the upcoming local level election.
Bhaktapur District Court has alleged banking offence against Bista and he has also been accused of having dual citizenship. According to DSP Sukadev Khanal of the District Police Office, an arrest warrant has been issued against Bista at the District Police Office, Okhaldhunga for an investigation into the case.
According to DSP Khanal, a case was registered against Bista of Likhu Municipality-9 in Bhaktapur in 2077 BS.
He further added that the Metropolitan Police Range has issued arrest warrants for the accused in the name of Milan Kumar Bista from Kathmandu District Administration Office and in the name of Hom Bahadur Bista from Okhaldhunga District Administration Office.
According to Election Officer Rajesh Kumar Thapa of Likhu rural muicipality, Ashok Karki, who had registered his candidature for the post of rural municipality’s chairperson from the Nepali Congress, had lodged a complaint against Bista on April 26, 2022.
