Arrest Made in Case of Assault on Doctor
Police arrested 34 year-old Saroj Gautam of Sinamangal, Kathmandu Metroploitancity-9 and 22-year-old Rupak Gautam of Gulmi currently residing in Chabahil, Kathmandu Metropoitancity-7 on October 1 for assaulting Manish Khadka, an Intern Doctor in Kathmandu Medical College, Sinamangal.
Dr. Khadka had given them instructions to maintain order and wait in line in the OPD when the Gautam family brought their patient for dialysis. However, they became agitated and resorted to verbal abuse and physical violence towards Dr. Khadka.
Following the assault on their colleague, the co-workers and hospital staff assembled on the road outside the hospital and raised slogans in protest.
SP Kumod Dhungel, the Spokesperson of the District Police Office in Kathmandu, has stated that an investigation into the assault on the doctor has been initiated, and the accused individuals have been detained in the Police Circle, Gaushala, for an additional five days.
