Application of compensation lodged at administration
Padam Bahadur Khadka, 21 of Madhuban Municipality-7 has lodged an application at District Administration Office of Bardiya on January 6 demanding a compensation for the infliction of severe torture at army custody as per the court order.
The District Court of Bardiya has ordered for the compensation of Rs 50,000 to the victim confirming that he was inflicted with torture.
The victim who has been fighting for the justice since the last seven years has already spent more than Rs 1,00,000 in course of getting justice.
He added that his body is weekend due to the torture and health issues are seen. He said that if he gets compensation on time , he will get relief to some extent.
But, its been long since court ordered for the compensation and he is still struggling to get it. He was only 14 years old when he was inflicted with torture.
The victim had lodged complaint at District Court of Bardiya on 2011 November 11 against torture and the court had convicted Man Bahadur Khadka and penalized Rs 2,000 along with departmental action. The court had also ordered the compensation of Rs 50,000 from the state.
CDO Ram Bahadur Kuruwang of Bardiya said that he will initiate for the compensation to the victim.
