Acute shortage of drinking water in District headquarter
The District headquarter of Manma is facing an acute shortage of drinking water. The shortage is due to the ill management in distribution from the last two months.
Locals are compelled to walk long distance to carry a bucket of water according to hotel operator Ratna Bahadur Shahi.
“The headquarter is facing acute shortage of drinking water”, he said. He added that the shortage is due to the lack of coordination between drinking water consumers committee and drinking water office.
Chief District Officer Chandra Bahadur Karki said that direction has been given to the office to solve the problem.
One study shows that Banjagada in Panlata Rural Municipality-2 is one of the severely hit district regarding the drinking water. There is just one tap water for 182 families.
