Action will be taken for selling substandard food: CM Raut
Chief Minister lal Babu Raut of province 2 said that any vendor playing with the lives of consumers by selling substandard food will be brought to the legal boundary.
Raut while speaking at the program organized by NHRC on April 16 on “Human Rights Situation workshop” said that action will be taken if found guilty on selling such food which is directly related to the consumers health.
He added that selling food by putting formalin will be prosecuted. He also said that there must be a management on selling meat products openly. The coordination and interaction with CDO, local government and local people are very important.
Chairperson Jyoti Baniya of Consumer’s protection forum said that the mechanism to take action against selling contaminated food is very week. NHRC member Mohana Ansari said that the effective law will be formulated and implemented.
