Accused Sentenced to Two Years Imprisonment for Sexually Abusing Minor
The District Court sentenced 19-year-old Sudan Giri of Ghorahi Sub-metropolitan City-6 to two years imprisonment for the crime of sexually abusing a 12-year-old minor.
Registrar Damodar Ghimire informed that the bench of Tejnarayan Paudel on June 14 found the accused guilty and sentenced him to two years imprisonment, along with Rs 20,000 fine, and Rs 40,000 compensation to the victim and 4,000 rupees to be deposited in the victim’s relief fund.
The aggrieved party filed a complaint against the accused on 27 January at the District Police Office alleging that the accused had sexually abused the victim on 23 January.
The health examination of the victim was done on 28 January at Rapti Academy of Health Sciences, Ghorahi. Giri was arrested on 30 January.
