Accused Sentenced to Three Months Imprisonment for Beating Minor

The District Court has sentenced 26-year-old Mission Rudra Bahadur Rai, who lives in Urlabari Municipality-6, to three months imprisonment for the crime of beating an 11-year-old girl of Urlabari Municipality-6. Hem Bahadur Budhathoki, the Information Officer of the court said that the bench of the District Court Judge Narayan Prasad Paudel on September 16 ordered the accused to pay a fine of Rs 15,000 and Rs 30,000 as compensation to the victim along with the imprisonment.

The accused is charged for beating the minor on 25 May for stealing money. The aggrieved party filed a complaint against the accused at the Area Police Office, Urlabari on 26 May. The police registered a case under the charge of beating against the accused in the District Court on June 20. The accused was released on bail following an order from the bench of Morang District Court Judge Judda Bahadur Ale Magar. The girl suffering injuries on various parts of her body and face was treated at Madan Bhandari Hospital & Trauma Center, Urlabari.
