Accused Sentenced to Six and Half Years Imprisonment for Crime of Rape
The District Court sentenced a 17-year-old boy to six years and six months imprisonment for the crime of raping a 15-year-old girl. Registrar Damodae Ghimire of the District Court informed that the bench of District Court Judge Tejnarayan Paudel on 26 November decided to sentence the juvenile to imprisonment along with a fine of Rs 3,33,300 and 1,300 rupees to the victim’s relief fund. The aggrieved party reported the incident at the Area Police Office, Tulsipur on February 14, 2024, alleging that the girl was raped on February 13. Subsequently, police arrested the boy on 14 February.
The health examination of the girl was done on February 14 at Rapti Provincial Hospital, Tulsipur.
