Accused Sentenced to One and Half Month Imprisonment for Sexual Abuse
The District Court of Kailali sentenced Harish Karki of the Dhangadhi Sub-metropolitan City-2 to one and a half months imprisonment on 6 November for the charge of sexually abusing a 16-year-old minor. Registrar Man Bahadur Bista of the District Court informed that the bench of Judge Dandapani Lamichhane at the District Court, Kailali, found the accused guilty and sentenced him to one and a half months of imprisonment along with a fine of Rs 5,000.
The aggrieved party filed a complaint against the accused at the District Police Office, Kailali, on 19 May 2023, alleging that he had sexually abused the girl on 16 May 2023. Subsequently, the police registered a case against the accused under the charge of sexual abuse in the District Court through the office of the government attorney. The bench of Judge Bishnu Prasad Awasthi of the District Court on 21 June, released the accused on a bail of Rs 25,000.
The health examination of the victim was conducted on 20 June at Seti Provincial Hospital, Dhangadhi.
