Accused Sentenced to 13-year Imprisonment for Crime of Rape
The District Court sentenced 41-year-old Man Bahadur Sunar of Tulsipur Sub-metropolitan City-13 to 13 years imprisonment for the crime of raping a 25-year-old woman. Registrar Damodar Ghimire of the District Court informed that the bench of Judge Lal Singh Thapa on 17 December sentenced the accused to 13-year imprisonment along with a fine of Rs 5,00,000, Rs 25,000 as compensation, and Rs 20,000 the victim’s relief fund
A complaint was filed at the Area Police Office, Tulsipur on 14 April 2024 alleging that the accused had raped the victim on 13 April. Subsequently, the accused was arrested on 14 April.
The health examination of the victim was done on 14 April at the Rapti Provincial Hospital, Tulsipur.
