Accused Sentenced to 12-years Imprisonment for Rape
The District Court has sentenced Niranjan Kumar Yadav of Rajpur Rural Municipality-5 to 12 years imprisonment for the crime of raping a 15-year-old girl.
Judge Lalsingh Thapa of the district court on December 13 found the accused guilty and sentenced to 12 years imprisonment, a fine of Rs 500,000 rupees and a compensation of Rs 50,000 rupees.
Aggrieved party filed a complaint on May 13 at Ward Police Office, Lamhi, stating that the accused had raped the victim on 18 April 2024. The medical examination of the victim was done on May 13 at Rapti Academy of Health Sciences, Ghorahi. The police arrested the accused on May 13.
