Accused Sentenced to 12-year-imprisonment for Crime of Rape
The District Court sentenced 38-year-old Min Bahadur Lopchan of Hetauda sub-metropolitan city-14 Baneldhap to 12 years of imprisonment on October 22 for raping a 13-year-old girl. The bench of district court judge Shakuntala Karki sentenced the accused with the 12 years in prison along with a fine of Rs 500,000 , and Rs 40,000 as compensation to the victim.
Min Bahadur raped the minor at his sister’s house on 17 July , 2023 and when the girl’s relatives came to know about the incident, they filed a complaint with the police.
Police arrested Lopchan on July 18, 2023 and the victim was examined at Hetauda Hospital on the same day.
