Accused of Sexual Abuse Arrested after 10 Years
Police have arrested Parbat Rai, 33, of Bhojpur Municipality-11 Amtek on the charge of sexually abusing a 20-year-old woman. The accused was arrested after 10 years of the incident.
The victim had lodged a complaint at the District Police Office on June 29, 2011, alleging that the accused had sexually abused the girl on June 16, 2011.
Police had registered a case against the accused in the district court on September 10, 2011, under the heading of sexual abuse.
A bench of District Court Judge Medini Prasad Poudel had declared him guilty and sentenced him to two years and six months of imprisonment on September 23, 2015.
Inspector Shishir Thapa of the District Police Office informed INSEC that the process has been furthered by presenting the perpetrator in court.
The victim was examined at the District Hospital on October 3, 2011.
