Accused of Rape Sentenced to Seven Year Imprisonment
District Court Sarlahi sentenced 32-year-old Subodh Kumar Raut of Bishnu Rural Municipality-6 to seven years imprisonment for the crime of raping a 22-year-old woman. Bench of Judge Binod Kumar Gautam found the accused guilty and sentenced seven years imprisonment and Rs 50,000 compensation to the victim as per registrar Sadan Adhikari on 15 July 2023.
A complaint was filed on 10 May 2023 alleging that the accused raped the victim on 17 April 2023 and the complaint was registered by the District Police Office on 11 May 2023. The health examination of the victim was done at Sarlahi District Hospital on 11 May 2023.
