Accused of Rape Sentenced to 14 Years Imprisonment
Sindhuli District Judge Mahendra Bahadur Karki’s Bench sentenced Bidur Prasad Devkota, 36, of Golanjor Rural Municipality-7, to 14 years imprisonment and compensation of Rs 50,000 on 2 April 2023, for the crime of rape of a 15-year-old girl.
District Judge Mahendra Bahadur Karki’s bench decided to sentence Devkota to 14 years imprisonment and to pay a compensation of 50 thousand rupees.
Devkota raped the girl on 30 January 2020 by threatening and scaring her, and the victim filed a complaint at Sindhuli District Police Office on 20 July 2020.
The health examination of the girl was done on 20 July 2020 at Sindhuli Hospital.
Devkota was arrested on the same day.
