Accused of Rape Sentenced to 12 Years Imprisonment
The District Court has sentenced Manoj Karki, 25 of Bhojpur Municipality-5 Bokhim, to 12 years imprisonment for the crime of rape of a 17-year-old girl.
According to the Registrar of the court, Navaraj Karki, District Court Judge Maniram Neupane’s bench on 9 April 2023 convicted him crime and ordered him to pay a fine of Rs. 400,000 and Rs. 20,000 rupees as compensation along with the prison sentence.
The aggrieved party filed a complaint against the accused at the district police office on 28 December 2022 stating that the accused had raped the victim girl on 9 January 2021.
The police registered a case of rape against the accused in the district court on 9 January 2021.
The health examination of the victim was done at the district hospital on 1 1 January 2021.
