Accused of Rape of Minor, Arrested
On September 6, the police apprehended 33-year-old Purna Bahadur Shrestha of Neelkanth Municipality-4 on charges of raping a 15-year-old girl.
The victim had lodged a complaint at the District Police Office on August 20, alleging that the accused had sexually assaulted her on September 6 in a forested area within Neelkanth Municipality-8 and on an unpaved road located in Siddhalek Rural Municipality-6.
SP Gautam Mishra of the District Police Office reported that the accused was taken into custody on the same day following the victim’s complaint.
The victim underwent a medical examination at Dhading Hospital on September 6. SP Mishra stated that the police initiated an investigation against the accused, as ordered by the district court on September 7, with a five-day extension for further inquiry.
